CONTAMINATED FUEL CHANGES SATURDAY’S 358 MODIFIED FEATURE WINNER AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAYerik158@gmail.com
New Egypt, NJ (June 28, 2016) – Following post-technical inspection, the outcome of the 358 Modified feature on Saturday, June 25 has changed. Ryan Godown has been awarded the win as contaminated fuel was detected from the fuel cell of Billy Pauch, Sr.
“We (New Egypt Speedway) are not calling this a case of illegal fuel but rather a case of contaminated fuel. The track has certain specs the fuel must meet after the race. Billy’s fuel did not meet those specs. It doesn’t mean that he used illegal fuel. It could’ve have been a case of someone else’s fuel mixing with the track’s fuel in his containers causing the fuel to not meet the track specifications. As per track rules Billy Pauch, Sr. was placed in last place and paid last place money,” stated track official Joe Liquori.
