Mother Nature Wins Again At New Egypt Speedway Saturday, August 6th; Heavy Rain Hit the Speedway Right at the Start of Hot Laps

New Egypt, NJ– Mother Nature reared her ugly head again at New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, August 6th. Just as hot laps were underway, the skies opened up with a heavy rain, thunder, and lightening. After trying to wait out the rain, management had to cancel as the track had succumbed to the half hour long downpour.

Wristbands from the event will be honored as a rain check for the remaining races in 2016 with the exception of Tuesday, August 23rd and Saturday, September 17th (as well as Saturday, September 24th if needed as the rain date for September 17th). The race will not be made up as none of the actual racing events were started before the rain hit.

The Speedway’s next event will be Saturday, August 13th with Beach Party Night sponsored by Hammer Electric. Racing will be the 358 Modifieds, NEWS Sprints presented by Burlington Overhead Door, and Street Stocks. The first 100 kids will receive a free beach ball courtesy of Physical Therapy Associates of Mercer County and the first 100 adults will receive a free beach towel courtesy of Hammer Electric. Pit gates open at 4 pm, grandstands open at 5 pm, hot laps begin at 6 pm, and racing starts at 7 pm. Adults are $20, seniors 65 and older are $18, teens 12-15 and military and their spouses with ID are $10, and children 11 and under are FREE.

New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike.
