New Egypt Speedway Schedules First Event of 2016 for Saturday, March firstname.lastname@example.org
New Egypt, NJ– With 2016 right around the corner, the management of New Egypt Speedway has been busy putting together the 2016 racing schedule. The first event to kick off the 2016 season will put a new twist on a fan favorite.
Gone is the ROC sanctioned Cabin Fever event and in its place will be will the March Madness Meltdown on Saturday, March 19, 2016. The March Madness Meltdown will feature a 50-lap open Modified event paying $5,000 to win and $400 to take the green. Joining the Modifieds will be a combined 25-lap Open Sportsman and Crate Modified event paying $1,000 to win and $100 to take the green and the Wingless NEWS Sprints whose payout and feature length will depend on car count with details being released at a later date.
“The opening night event is a fan and Speedway favorite because we are all ready to shake off a long winter of no racing,” said General Manager Allyse Wolfinger. “We want to keep the great opening night program we’ve delivered over the past several years alive. This new, updated version keeps the integrity of the event we’ve built but puts our own unique spin on it.”
The opening event of every season at New Egypt brings the Big Block Modifieds back to make one of their limited appearances at the Speedway while taking on the weekly 358 Small Block Modifieds. With many area tracks not yet open due to the usually chilly temperatures, New Egypt is the place to be for many area drivers to make their first start of the 2016 racing season. Entry forms for the event are available on the Speedway’s website with a $5 discount for early entry being offered.
As a special event the race will carry lap money and bonus awards. Laps for the Sportsman event will pay a minimum of $10 each and laps for the Modifieds will pay a minimum of $15 each. The first bonus award will be for the winner of the Modified event, who will receive a guaranteed starting spot in the All Star Cup event at New Egypt Speedway in September. If anyone is interested in sponsoring a lap or posting a bonus for the event, they can contact the Speedway office at 609-758-1900. Lap and bonus sponsors will be announced as they are received a full list will appear on the homepage of the Speedway website.
