New Egypt, NJ– New Egypt Speedway is in high gear preparing for the next two months of racing that caps off with one of the biggest events of the season the annual All Star Cup race. This year’s event is schedule to take place on Saturday, September 17th with a rain date of Saturday, September 24th.
The original line-up and format is being altered to now include the Open Sportsman division that will compete along with the 358 Modifieds, Crate Modifieds, and NEWS Wingless Sprints presented by Burlington Overhead Door. With limited participation in the annual All Star Cup point standings, they have been eliminated. Drivers who entered at the beginning of the season for the points can chose to have their entry count toward their race entry or have their money refunded.
The 358 Modifieds headline the show with a 50-lap feature paying $5,000 to win and $400 to take the green. Both the Open Sportsman and Crate Modifieds will compete in a 25 lap feature paying $1,000 to win and $150 to take the green. The NEWS Sprints presented by Burlington Overhead Door round out the line-up with a 20-lap feature paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start if there are more than 10 cars. Rules and payout information along with entry forms for all four divisions are up on the Speedway’s website www.newegyptspeedway.net.
Lap sponsorship and bonuses for all divisions is being collected by Speedway management with many of the laps being filled by local businesses. The lap money goes directly to the driver who leads each lap in all four feature events.
Pit gates are set to open at 12 pm for early technical inspection which all cars who have not raced at New Egypt Speedway in 2016 MUST go through, grandstands will open at 3 pm, hot laps will start at 4 pm, and the first green flag will wave at 5 pm. Adult general admission is $30, teens 12-15 and military and their spouses with ID are $15, and children 11 and under are FREE. Pit admission with any track or series license will be $35 and $40 without a license.
New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike. A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best competition in the country.
