BUFFALINO MARCHES TO HIS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

BUFFALINO MARCHES TO HIS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

New Egypt, NJ (May 27, 2018) – At the Salute to Our Veterans Night at New Egypt Speedway, Dominick Buffalino marched to his first win of the season in the Modified feature. Connor King took the checkered flag in the Crate Modified contest. The Street Stock race was won by Bill Liedtka. Ryan Heim came out on top in the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie feature. Joe Garey, Jr. was the victor in the 4-Cylinder race.

As the extra distance 40-lap Modified feature got underway, polesitter Dominick Buffalino jumped to the head of the pack. Eighth place starting Brandon Grosso was quickly advancing forward and trekked into the runner-up position with four circuits completed. Following a caution period on lap five, Buffalino retained his lead with Billy Pauch, Jr. zipping from sixth into second and Grosso slipping back to third place. David VanHorn, who started the event in eleventh, had just moved into fourth place when a flat tire on John McClelland’s car caused the yellow lights to illuminate on lap nine. Green flag action returned very briefly as Rich Rutski’s ride rolled over in turn one and the red flag was displayed. On the ensuing restart, Buffalino repelled Pauch, Jr. to maintain his edge with Grosso still in third. Danny Bouc, who won the last Modified feature on May 5, entered the top five on lap twelve. On the fifteenth circuit with Buffalino and Pauch, Jr. in close quarters, action slowed as PJ Oliver and Bryan Kuhl tangled in the fourth corner. When racing resumed, Buffalino rebuffed another strong challenge from Pauch, Jr. to keep the lead with Grosso remaining in third and Bouc climbing past VanHorn for fourth. At the halfway point, Buffalino was still holding off Pauch, Jr. with Grosso and Bouc dueling for third. After a good stretch of green flag racing that saw the leaders knifing through traffic, a string of caution periods on lap twenty eight occurred. During this time, Pauch, Jr. was forced to retire from the event with a fuel pump malfunction. Following the multiple yellow flags, Buffalino was still in front with Bouc and VanHorn driving past Grosso for second and third respectively with eleven tours remaining. As the race entered the final few laps, a bobble by Buffalino allowed Bouc to inch closer to the leader. Buffalino quickly recovered and navigated through some slower traffic to take his first checkered flag of the season. Also, the win automatically qualifies Buffalino for the final round of the May Modified Madness Series. With Bouc coming home in second, VanHorn was third. In the last quarter of the race, Ryan Krachun was able to motor by Grosso to finish in fourth. The Modified heats were claimed by Brandon Grosso, Billy Pauch, Jr. and Dominick Buffalino. Rich Rutski won the consolation event.

Following a restart, Connor King used a third to first place advancement to win the 20-lap Crate Modified feature. Robby Dunn led the field for the opening two tours before Tom Princiotta became the leader. After a lap ten caution, the third place running King, who started the contest in fourteenth, drove by the top two of Princiotta and Eric Palmer to take command. The win was King’s fifth career victory. Princiotta held off Palmer for second. Jeremy Martino finished in fourth and Dan Fleming came home in fifth. Ryan Simmons and Tom Princiotta were victorious in the Crate Modified qualifying races.

In the 15-lap feature for the Street Stocks, Bill Liedtka slipped by Jon Meyer on the ninth circuit and paced the field the rest of the way to gain his second win of the season. Meyer, who took the lead from polesitter Joe Reid on the second tour, followed Liedtka across the line. Third place went to Jim Avery. Jerry Stanzione and Marty Derr rounded out the top five.

Ryan Heim passed Bobby Holzwarth as the white flag waved and held on to win the 8-lap Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie feature. The victory was Heim’s fourth of the year. With Holzwarth finishing second, Paige Brown was third and Kevin Borden, Jr. was fourth.

Joe Garey, Jr. held off his dad to win the 15-lap 4-Cylinder contest. After winning the first two races, Joe Garey, Sr. finished in second. Justin Dunn, Ian Ashford and Doug Ashford completed the top five.

On Saturday, June 2, Premio Foods presents Jeep Night as “The Slideways Six” (Round of 6) of the May Madness Modified Series takes place at New Egypt Speedway. BOUC BESTS THE MODIFIED FIELD AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

BOUC BESTS THE MODIFIED FIELD AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

New Egypt, NJ (May 6, 2018) – During the Round of 24 for the May Madness Modified Series, Danny Bouc bested the Modified field at New Egypt Speedway. The Hammer Sportsman feature was won by Pat Wall. Joe Toth took the checkered flag in the Crate Modified main event. Eric Jennings scored the victory in the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Car feature. The 8-lap Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman feature was taken by Ryan Heim. Joe Garey, Sr. claimed the top prize in the 4-Cylinder race.

As the 30-lap Modified feature got underway, JR Fulper jumped out to the front with Steve Davis and Brian Papiez next in line. Eighth place starting Danny Bouc quickly began to move forward and was in second place with five tours completed. On the sixth circuit, a slowing Bryan Kuhl brought out the first yellow flag. When the green flag waved again, Bouc blasted by Fulper to take the lead with David VanHorn driving into third. VanHorn, who started the contest in ninth, slipped by Fulper on lap nine to take over second. Following another caution period on the ninth revolution, Bouc held off VanHorn to maintain his advantage with Billy Pauch, Jr. taking third from Fulper. After a trio of cautions at the halfway point, Bouc was still pacing the field over VanHorn and Pauch, Jr. with Ryan Godown running in fourth after starting the race in twenty-fifth position using a backup car. Over the next several laps, Bouc was feeling pressure from VanHorn for the lead while Pauch, Jr. and Godown were dueling for third. With five laps remaining and Bouc approaching slower traffic, the yellow lights illuminated for Brian Roemer. During this appearance of the caution flag, Ryan Godown relinquished fourth place as he visited his pit stall. With the restart marred by a multi-car tangle, green flag racing finally resumed with Bouc retaining his edge over VanHorn and Pauch, Jr. Over the final laps, Bouc went unchallenged to win his ninth career Modified checkered flag at New Egypt Speedway. With the victory, Bouc has automatically qualified for the final round of the May Madness Modified Series. With VanHorn taking second, Pauch, Jr. came home in third. Eleventh place starting Ryan Krachun finished fourth. Brandon Grosso came from fifteenth to complete the race in fifth. Steve Davis, Danny Bouc and Brian Papiez were victorious in the heat races for the Modifieds.

Pat Wall celebrated his birthday by winning the 20-lap Hammer Sportsman feature for the second time this season. Joseph Brown led the opening thirteen tours before the eighth place starting Wall assumed command of the race. Bob Lineman, Jr. was second with Art Liedl finishing third. Bill Liedtka was fourth and David Burns rounded out the top five. Hammer Sportsman qualifying events were won by Pat Wall and Billy Osmun.

With the time limit reached in the scheduled 20-lap Crate Modified feature, Joe Toth was scored as the winner with eighteen circuits completed. Toth took the lead from Paul Hartwig on the second circuit and paced the field for the remainder of the contest for his first career victory at New Egypt Speedway. Connor King drove up from his fourteenth place start to take the runner-up spot. Jeremy Martino, John Criscione and Kyle Kania completed the top five. Joe Toth and Ryan Simmons were the winners in the Crate Modified heat races.

In the 20-lap main event for the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars, Eric Jennings grabbed the lead from Larry Drake on the sixth tour and led the rest of the way to win his second feature of the year. Rich Mellor was second with Heidi Hedin placing third. Karl Freyer finished in fourth and fifth place went to Brian Spencer. Larry Drake was the victor in the qualifying race for the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars.

For the third time in four races, Ryan Heim topped his rivals in the 8-lap Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman feature. Paige Brown led the race for the opening three circuits before Heim took command. Brown concluded the contest in second. Matt Miller finished in third. Fourth went to Kevin Borden, Jr. and Bobby Holzwarth was fifth.

Joe Garey, Sr. racked up his second 2018 visit to victory lane by leading every step of the way in the 15-lap race for the 4-Cylinders. Justin Dunn, Jim Backowski, Scott Dunn and Joe Garey, Jr. finished in order behind the winner.

On Saturday, May 12 at New Egypt Speedway, the May Madness Modified Series continues with the Round of 12. The Mid Atlantic Sprint Car Series will be competing in two feature events including the postponed contest from April 14. The Hammer Sportsman, Street Stocks and the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman fill out the card. The gates to the pit area unlock at 2:30 p.m. with the grandstand turnstiles opening at 3:30 p.m. Hot laps get cranked up at 4:30 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the grandstand is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for teens 12-15, $10 for military personal and their spouses with ID, and Kids 11 & under are FREE. RUTSKI AND VACLAVICEK SCORE WINS ON TWIN TWENTY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

RUTSKI AND VACLAVICEK SCORE WINS ON TWIN TWENTY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

New Egypt, NJ (April 29, 2018) – On Twin Twenty Night at New Egypt Speedway, Rich Rutski and Kevin Vaclavicek each scored a Modified feature win. The Crate Modified main event was won by Dan Fleming. Jon Meyer captured the victory in the Street Stock race. The Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman feature went to Bobby Holzwarth. Joe Garey, Sr. took top honors in the 4-Cylinder contest.

After three attempts, the first 20-lap Modified feature began with Dominick Buffalino taking command over Jeff Bubori and Rich Rutski. With six circuits in the books, Buffalino was running strong with Rutski advancing into second and Ryan Krachun running in third. On the eighth circuit, Buffalino, who had a full straightaway advantage over the field, pulled into the infield and retired from the race with a mechanical issue. Rutski, a teammate of Buffalino, became the new leader with Krachun taking over second and Danny Bouc moving into third place. Three laps later, Krachun was closing in on Rutski when the yellow flag waved for a spinning Kevin Vaclavicek. On the ensuing restart, Rutski held off a challenge for the lead with Ryan Godown charging into second and John McClelland taking over third. With two additional cautions and resumptions in the final six laps, Rutski held off additional threats to his lead and raced home to his second career win in the Modified ranks. The runner-up spot went to McClelland. With Krachun taking third, Godown slipped back in the final tours to finish in fourth. Jimmy Horton completed the top five.

As the top twelve finishers in the first contest were inverted, the second 20-lap feature got underway with second place starting Chad Barney grabbing the lead. Jeff Bubori and Kevin Vaclavicek were next in line. With three circuits in the books, Vaclavicek advanced past Bubori and began to track down Barney. On the fourth lap, Vaclavicek sped past Barney to become the new leader. Once in front, Vaclavicek began to pull away from the field. On the eighth circuit, Vaclavicek’s sizeable advantage was lost as Barney, who had lost second place to Bubori, spun while running in third place. After a few unsuccessful tries, green flag racing returned with Vaclavicek maintaining his position, Ryan Godown in second and Matt Stangle in third. At the halfway point, Stangle drove by Godown to take over the runner-up spot. Over the final half of the affair, Vaclavicek drove flawlessly as he logged his first career Modified feature victory. Second place went to Stangle. Godown completed the race in third with John McClelland taking fourth and Jimmy Horton was fifth. The Modified heat winners were Rich Rutski, Blaine Bracelin and Dominick Buffalino.

In the 20-lap Crate Modified main event, Dan Fleming took the lead from Robbie Dunn on the eleventh tour and paced the field the rest of the way. The win was Fleming’s second career checkered flag in the division. Kyle Kania’s last lap charge past John Aumick earned him a second place finish. With Aumick in third, eleventh place starting Ryan Simmons was fourth. After starting in tenth, Johnny Bangs completed the race in fifth. John Aumick and John Criscione were victorious in the Crate Modified qualifying races.

Jon Meyer slipped beneath Lee Allen in the first corner of the last circuit to take the victory in the 15-lap Street Stock contest. Meyer, who was running in second when he was involved in an incident on the eighth revolution, was able to roar back through the field to collect his third career victory. Billy Wroble slipped by Allen on the final lap as well to take second place. With Allen finishing third, Jim Avery was fourth and Jerry Stanzione was fifth.

After taking the lead on lap five from Matt Miller, Bobby Holzwarth held off Sam Martz, Jr. in the final three tours to win his first Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman feature. The second place finish by Martz was his third consecutive in three events. Miller, who led the opening five circuits, came home in third. Kevin Borden, Jr. and Erich Conk completed the top five.

Joe Garey, Sr. led every step of the way to gain the checkered flag in the 10-lap race for the 4-Cylinders. Justin Dunn, Scott Miller, Scott Dunn and Joe Garey, Jr. followed the victor across the finish line.

The May Modified Madness Series gets underway on Saturday, May 5 at New Egypt Speedway with the round of 24. This unique four race series features the top-24 in the Modified point standings competing in a bracket style elimination tournament. The Modifieds will be joined by the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars, Hammer Sportsman, Crate Modifieds, 4-Cylinders and the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman. PAUCH PICKS UP HIS SECOND NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY CHECKERED FLAG OF THE YEAR

PAUCH PICKS UP HIS SECOND NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY CHECKERED FLAG OF THE YEAR

New Egypt, NJ (April 22, 2018) – At New Egypt Speedway, Billy Pauch, Jr. picked up his second checkered flag of the year after beating his rivals in the Modified feature. Art Liedl was victorious in the Hammer Sportsman main event. The Crate Modified feature was won by Jordan Cox. Eric Jennings took top honors in the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars feature. Ryan Heim won the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman race.

Polesitter Chad Barney grabbed the lead as the 30-lap Modified feature began with Richie Pratt, Jr. and Jim Bobbitt next in line. After several caution periods and eight tours recorded, Barney was still in charge with Steve Davis, Matt Stangle, Billy Pauch, Jr. and Pratt, Jr. completing the top five. At the halfway point, the front four of Barney, Davis, Stangle and Pauch, Jr. were racing in close quarters of one another. Shortly afterwards, Pauch, Jr., who started the event in twenty-fourth, began to use the middle racing lanes in the corners and motored into second place on the seventeenth revolution. Two laps later, Pauch, Jr. scooted past Barney to take over first place. Once on top, Pauch, Jr. began to pull away from the field. Behind the leader and with nine circuits to go, Stangle edged up into third while eighteenth place starting David VanHorn continued his march forward as he moved into fourth. As Pauch, Jr. was beginning to approach lap traffic, his comfortable lead evaporated due to a caution period for Tim Apgar with four laps to go. On the ensuing restart, Pauch, Jr. held off Barney with VanHorn advancing into third, Davis riding in fourth and Stangle slipping back to fifth. Over the final laps, Pauch, Jr. distanced himself away from the pack and cruised to his second win of the year. Barney’s strong run netted him second place. With VanHorn finishing third, Davis was fourth and Stangle was fifth. Matt Stangle, Ryan Godown and Dominick Buffalino were the Modified heat winners.

Art Liedl, who has the most feature wins in the former SS Sprint division at New Egypt Speedway, was victorious in a Hammer Sportsman feature for the first time since 2004. Liedl captured his second career win in the division after taking the lead from Jimmy Amato on the third circuit of the 20-lap contest. David Burns claimed the runner-up spot while Billy Osmun finished in third. The top five was filled out by Cale Ross and Amato. The Hammer Sportsman heat races were taken by David Burns and Billy Osmun.

In the 20-lap Crate Modified feature, Jordan Cox led from start to finish to collect his first career win. Eric Palmer chased Cox throughout the feature to take second place. Third went to Kyle Kania. Ninth place starting Ryan Simmons came home in fourth and Johnny Bangs completed the race in fifth. Kyle Kania and Dan Fleming were the victors in the Crate Modified heat races.

Eric Jennings grabbed the lead on lap twelve and paced the field for the remaining circuits to win the 20-lap Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars. Veteran Karl Freyer followed Jennings across the finish line. Bobby Tersillo was third and Rich Mellor was fourth. A disqualification of Larry McVay elevated Brian Spencer into fifth. Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars qualifying events were won by Heidi Hedin and Eric Jennings.

For the second week in a row, Ryan Heim topped the field in the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman feature. Paige Brown led the opening four circuits before the seventh place starting Heim took control. Sam Martz, Jr. chased Heim over the final tours to claim the runner-up spot. With Brown finishing third, Kevin Borden, Jr. was fourth and Erich Conk came home in fifth.

Twin twenty-lap features for the Modifieds highlight the Saturday, April 28 program at New Egypt Speedway. PAUCH IS VICTORIOUS AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY'S 2018 SEASON OPENER

PAUCH IS VICTORIOUS AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY'S 2018 SEASON OPENER

New Egypt, NJ (April 15, 2018) - On Opening Night at New Egypt Speedway, presented by Oliver Communications Group, Billy Pauch, Jr. was victorious in the extra distance 40-lap Modified feature. Pat Wall topped the field in the Hammer Sportsman race. The Street Stock feature was won by Bill Liedtka. Ryan Heim took the checkered flag in the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie contest.

As the 40-lap double point Modified feature got underway, polesitter Steve Davis sped to the front with JR Fulper and Billy Pauch, Jr. next in line. With three tours completed, Pauch, Jr. had motored into second with Brandon Grosso advancing to third. On lap four, Pauch, Jr. was just about to take command of the race when the yellow flag waved for Brian Papiez. On the ensuing restart, Pauch, Jr. used the outside groove to drive by Davis and into the lead. After several caution periods and ten circuits in the books, Pauch, Jr. was still in control with Danny Bouc, Grosso, Dominick Buffalino, Jimmy Horton and Davis in tow.

Due to the total amount of circuits under green and yellow flag conditions, a fuel stop took place at lap seventeen with Pauch, Jr., Grosso, Bouc, David VanHorn and Kevin Vaclavicek in the top five positions. When racing got back underway, Pauch, Jr. retained his edge with Grosso holding onto second and VanHorn zipping into third. While cleanup of a lap eighteen multi-car tangle was occurring, Grosso went pitside and relinquished second place to VanHorn. Pauch, Jr. repelled a strong bid by Van Horn for the top running spot as action resumed. By the twenty-fifth tour, Pauch, Jr. was beginning to pull away from the pack with Bouc in second and VanHorn in third. As the leader was approaching the back of the field and with only six circuits remaining, the yellow lights illuminated for a slowing Ryan Krachun.

On the ensuing restart, Pauch, Jr. kept his lead with Bouc and VanHorn trying to track him down. Over the final laps, several minor incidents brought out the yellow flag including the final caution of the contest with one circuit to go.
