RAIN GO AWAY: NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY RAINS OUT FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK, APRIL 17 PRACTICE ADDED

NEW EGYPT, NJ – For the second consecutive week, Mother Nature forces the cancellation of the John Blewett Inc. Points Opener at New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, April 12.

A significant amount of showers on Friday combined with a cold and wet forecast on Saturday forces the cancellation of another Saturday of racing.

“It’s very disappointing to lose another week of racing,” Executive Vice President of Operations Chris Moore stated. “We had that great start on March 29 and now the weather is taking the momentum away.

“Hopefully after the Easter break, we can get rolling again.”

With the cancellation of this week, and the scheduled off date for Saturday, April 19, speedway management has decided to hold an open practice on Thursday, April 17.

“We’ve had a lot of interest in track rentals and guys just wanting to drive their racecars,” Moore stated. “It would be unfair to schedule an impromptu race, but we can hold an open practice and give guys seat and track time while we wait for Mother Nature to figure things out.”

For the April 17 practice, pit gates open and safety inspections begin at 4 p.m. Practice begins at 6 p.m. and goes in rounds until 9 p.m.

Grandstand admission is FREE.

Pit admission is $35 w/o a License and $25 w/ a License.

Racing will resume now on Saturday, April 26 as Short Load Concrete presents the third try at the 2025 points opener at the D-shaped oval.

The Modifieds will headline the night of racing with the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate Sportsman, Four Cylinders, and Fastline Performance Rookies all on the racing card for the night.

For the April 26 event, pit gates open at 3 p.m. with the grandstands unlocking at 4 p.m. Hot laps begin at 5 p.m. with racing to follow at 6 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $23 for adults, $20 for Seniors (65 and up), and $15 for Military w/ID and Teens (12-15). Kids 11 and under are admitted FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (w/o a license) and $30 (w/ a license).
