BIG MONEY SATURDAY: KATY’S RACE, MR. CRATE CLASSIC, OLIVER COMMUNICATIONS MATCH RACES ALL ON TAP THIS SATURDAY
NEW EGYPT, NJ – Big Money Saturday.
New Egypt Speedway takes center stage on Saturday, August 16 with plenty of money to go around for the Modifieds and the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate Sportsman.
The Modifieds take part in the third annual ‘Katy’s Race,’ honoring the late Katy Mancini, an integral part of Paul Mancini’s No. 7 team, who compete weekly at New Egypt Speedway.
This year, thanks to John Blewett Inc. and Mancini Custom Homes, ‘Katy’s Race’ will pay a minimum of $4,500-to-win with other bonuses up for grabs as well throughout the field.
Current point leader Ryan Godown won the inaugural ‘Katy’s Race’ back in 2023 while his closest competitor in the points, Danny Bouc, won the event one season ago.
Godown and Bouc sit just four markers apart as the championship winds down with a big paying race on tap this Saturday. Billy Pauch Jr. completes the top three, just 18 points behind Bouc.
Tanner Van Doren and Jack Butler complete the top five in the Modified standings.
The Modifieds aren’t the only one’s running for extra money on Saturday, as the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate Sportsman also have extra cash on tap.
Thanks to Ellery’s Pub & Grill, located in Middlesex, N.J., the ninth annual Mr. Crate Classic will pay $1,500-to-win.
Cream Ridge, N.J.’s Steve Davis leads the Crate Sportsman standings by just two points over Bedminster, N.J.’s Mike Butler heading into the Mr. Crate Classic.
Etha Bill, Ryan Simmons, and Pat Wall complete the top five.
On top of the Mr. Crate Classic, Oliver Communications Group will also present the One-on-One Match Races for the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate Sportsman on Saturday.
The top ten in points for the Crate Sportsman are locked into the Match Races, with an 11th competitor earning a spot via the fastest lap time in heat race action.
The Xtreme Diesel Performance (XDP) LLC., Street Stock complete the Saturday night program.
Pat Force holds an 11-point lead over Rob Ormsbee as the championship season winds down.
Scott Freed, Chris Allen, and Brian Ludwig complete the top five in the standings.

For the August 16 event, pit gates open at 3 p.m. with grandstands unlocking at 4 p.m. Hot laps are slated for 5:30 p.m. with racing to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $23 for Adults, $20 for Seniors (ages 65 and up), and $15 for Teens (12-15) and Military w/ID. Kids 11 and under are admitted FREE.
Pit admission is $30 with a license and $40 w/o one.
