New Egypt Speedway & USAC East Coast Sprints Mutually Agree to Cancel the July 30 Event​ 

(July23, 2022): On Friday, NES General Manager Mark Blackwell and USAC East Coast Sprint Series Director Curt Micheal announced that they have mutually agreed to remove the series from the July 30th scheduled event. This cancellation is only for this Rapid Tire USAC East Coast event and does not affect any future dates. "As I try to take NES in a new, successful direction, we have to focus on our regular divisions first," stated Blackwell, "Once we have our weekly show headed in an upward direction, I look forward to adding more traveling series back to the schedule, especially the USAC East Coast Sprints. They have been an excellent partner with us, and I look forward to continuing that relationship." USAC East Coast Series Director Curt Micheal agreed. "This change of leadership at New Egypt is a very positive thing," Micheal remarked, "I have had several conversations with Mark (Blackwell) and I totally understand what he is trying to do." "Our series has experienced the same issues that many others have had with tire and part shortages," Micheal continued, "and with a big three race stretch in this Summer heat coming up for us, this schedule change will help our teams as well. We look forward to our next event there." The next event for the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade at New Egypt Speedway will take place on Oct. 22nd, as part of the annual Legends of the Fall event. The rest of the July 30th event will go on as scheduled featuring the Vahlco Wheels Modifieds, the Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's NEWS Sprints and the Wash Wagon 4-cylinders. It will be Toms River Night at the speedway as well, with all residents of Toms River (with proof of residency) receiving half price admission. Gates will open at 5pm, with hot laps at 6pm and racing beginning at 7pm.
